New Commenting System

One of the most requested additions is now active on the Chattanooga Media Blog. For as long as this site has existed we have received comments about upgrading our commenting system to one where you could sign in and be identified by each other to create a more discussion friendly atmosphere. Welcome to Disqus.

Disqus is a centralized discussion platform that is used by many large websites such as Fox News, Time Magazine, Engadget, & CNN. You will sign in with Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, OpenID, or Disqus to comment on any story posted. Here are some of the many advantages of the Disqus commenting system to you, the user:

  • You will receive an email telling you when there are comments on your comment. The link in the email takes you straight to the comment and so it is quite easy to engage in a discussion or argument with other users of the site.
  • It saves you time by not requiring you to register on lots of different websites. Sign in to comment with Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, OpenID, or Disqus.
  • You can quickly access all comments you have made.
  • You can click on a button to say you like a comment, which can give positive feedback for the writer.
  • You have a summary of how many posts you made and how many people have rated your comments.
