  2. Another loss for Chattanooga. Allie has really grown here and will do very well in the future. Not so happy to see Huckabee more....imho she is very stiff and unlikeable. Good luck Allison!

  5. we lose a cutie weather person and get a used to be cutie - the new cougar has forgotten she isn't 25 anymore and makes it a point to accentuate the positive - pay attention and you will see what I am talking about - just kind of gross - a sad day at Channel 9.

  6. While I grew to like Allison, she used the words "now" and "just about" far too often. Laura Huckabee does a very professional job like a gal from the big city should. Bill Race does a great job of making things understandable.

  7. Laura Huckabee is excellent! Her delivery is pleasant and calm. It's nice to see a seasoned professional on a local station. I hope she will consider staying in Chattanooga!

  9. I've lived here 10 yrs. and Allison Chinchar is by far the best meteorologist Channel 9 has had.
How could you let her leave? She'll do well in Nashville on Channel 2 or wherever she goes.

  10. Nashville will only have Allison for a short while, she will soon be a "blonde" fox girl!

  11. Please do not hire Laura Huckabee. The way she dresses offends me. Maybe the men like to watch her but most decent women will not watch her including me.

  12. My husband and I REALLY enjoyed watching Allison in the a.m. she seemed to be the ONLY one that could get the most information out in the least amount of time in the most pleasurable way...what a DISSAPOINTMENT!...guess I'll see if Naashville's news is streamlined JUST so we can get our "chinchar" smile.

  13. Wishing good luck to Allison. I know she will mature into a great television personality. Kudos to Nashville for landing her. Laura seems to be a true professional & we welcome her to our great Chattanooga station. ABC is the only way to fly when it comes to news.

  14. Too bad Channel 9 couldn't have both Allison and Laura. I like them both.
What they really need is some new reporters and a decent sportscaster every day. Patterson is a joke.

  15. Allison Chinchar seemed like she might have been a nice person, but BOY could she ever motormouth! She stressed me out every morning--even in the few seconds she prattled on before I managed to hit the mute button. Laura Huckabee is a victim of ageism--so, she doesn't dress matronly and she isn't 25 years-old? So WHAT?! If we judged reporting ability solely on appearance, Shrek would be the first to go! But, that would never happen and you know why? Because rough looking middle-aged men are O.K., whereas reasonably well put together older women are not. To the people who say Laura Huckabee offends them, I say, get a sense of style, lighten up, and get over yourself!
As to weather persons "getting the most information out in the least amount of time," I say--FOR THE LOVE OF PETE, STOP!!! Speak at a reasonable rate, give meaningful information in a reasonable amount of time, and realize this: You will NEVER get as much time as the news anchors, quit trying to "make your mark," or win us over with your "perky personality," you are doing the WEATHER, for crying out loud, there is only SO MUCH you can say and only SO MUCH we can take!!

  16. Laura Huckabee ROCKS. In addition to being an accomplished broadcast meteorologist, she's a superb, vibrant communicator and really pumps energy into Chattanooga's boring TV weather forecasts. We're lucky to have a broadcaster of her caliber. The fact that she's a knockout is just gravy.
