Meteorologist Neal Pascal To Begin Career In Teaching

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - WRCB Weekend Meteorologist Neal Pascal will be leaving the television station in the near future to pursue a career in teaching. Neal will take his science knowledge to the classroom in teaching 8th grade students at Lake Forrest Middle School in Bradley County this fall. Neal says he will simultaneously pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching degree at Lee University.
Neal said, "After speaking to students for years about the weather in classrooms, this will be a chance to broaden the subject of science. I intend to show them how learning science will help in their daily lives and careers. I thank Channel 3 for welcoming me into their family these past few years."
WRCB President and General Manager Tom Tolar added, "We support Neal in this next phase of his career. He has added a great deal of expertise to the Storm Alert Team in his time with us. We wish him the best."
The station has begun a nationwide search for a new weekend meteorologist.

  1. Too bad Ch. 3 can't pay a guy like Neal enough to stay in TV. When teacher pay is a step up from meteorologist, times are hard.

  2. So Bradley County is now hiring convicted felons to teach their children? Not good.

  3. The way they brought Neal in to channel 3 and railroading the guy he replaced (name escapes me)reeked of BS. I'm glad he's getting off TV. But getting hired to be a teacher just baffles me.

  4. Agree with the second comment. He ratted out his co-conspirators to avoid jail time and got house arrest if I remember correctly. Glad my kids aren't going to learn from this crook

  5. Glad to see him leave Channel 3. He is just weird, very unprofessional. He thinks he's funny, I guess. But he seems out of place. Kind of like the guy you try to avoid at the party.

  6. Wow, give the guy a break! He served his sentence a court handed down and deserves a second chance. He seems like a nice guy to me. Good luck, Neal!

  7. I agree. We all make mistakes but are not in the media's eye. He is professional but with a personality...what's wrong with that?!!

  8. Neal Pascal is truly missed by me and my family. He has been very professional and upfront. No one can replace him at Channel 3 or anywhere. I support his move to teaching. Science is his strong point. He is a genuine human being that I appreciate and has a personality that really draws people to him. Bless you Neal! We all struggle everyday.
