  3. Did this have anything to do with the fact that he let the Legend go and now WUUQ is doing so well?

  4. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!!! What a jerk.

  5. So there going to let "JO JO" be OM, while he makes KISS FM sound like crap because he wants to hire all these "voices" and NOO local shows at all except for his (which sounds voiced tracked).

    BAD BAD MOVE BY CC

  6. Yaaas..... Does JoJo have any Country chops? Maybe Clay will be back?

  7. What's funny is Bearman, Ken, and Dex all work for a JOJO! Wow to know that your collective fate is in the hands of a JOJO! It sounds more like a YOYO operation!

  8. JoJo is a good guy that seems to know what he is doing.

Laser Beam to Jay: you might wanna stay in the house until everyone forgets how big of a douche bag you are!

  11. Jay's old trick came to haunt him in the end. Horrible stories coming out of the building, Mark Bass unsuccessfuly tried to get him out of there last year and looked what happened. Now justice prevails, none of his drinking buddies in CC could save him.

  12. Come on guys, he wasn't that bad of a guy. A little bit of an ego but hey who doesn't have one in this business. I worked for him for 2 years and he was always good to me. Sad to see that you are raking a guy over the coals that has 4 kids and no job. I know what went down and trust me it was sad the way it happened. He came here a smart ass know it all and made some pretty big improvements professionally and personally. His last day was a great book for WUSY and WRXR. Yep he's a different bird, but one that improved during his time here. I hope he lands somewhere soon.

  13. I certainly want noone with 4 kids to have no job but come on. what a jerk..... "made some pretty big improvements professionally and personally. His last day was a great book for WUSY and WRXR" Are you kidding me. Since he has been here wusy has went from nearly a 25 share all the way to a 10 share at one point. Then he took WLND off the air as classic country and handed that audience to wuuq? Not to mention he pissed a huge line of customers and people off in the long run. The only reason I am sad to see him go is he was good at screwing things up with wusy for the rest of us radio people.

  15. If I know Duane he could careless and never gave it one ounce of thaought. he probably got more out of ignoring Jay then paying him any attention. And that probably pissed Jay off that he couldn't rattle Duane!

  16. music radio sucks. all of it. no exceptions.

it's dying a slow miserably painful, suffering dead

  17. Yeah right...radio is still the main source for local information on the go. If you don't believe me ask anyone who lives in Nashville right now dealing with the flooding. Newspaper, internet, TV and especially satelite can not give you minute by minute LOCAL updates while your on the go! All the while giving you FREE music!

  18. Oh that's rich. That bad storm a couple of weeks ago, only channel 9 was giving full coverage as those dangerous tornado producing cells passed over. As the power was flickering I flipped on the radio. As direr as the situation was us101 sunny and kz were aLl playing happy music to support the potential disaster going on. Wasnt that nice of them...

  19. I never said there was 24/7 coverage. But most radio stations turn it on when its called for. And listen if you dont care about radio then stop chimming in on a radio discussion. Jay cruz lost his job because he was a little napoleon not because of bad weather coverage. LOL

  20. I see where Tommy Jett has been contaceted for the OM job. Big Daddy Kyle is up for the PD gig! HEY NOW!!!

  21. yeah and Josh will be taking Bear's place.

    ReplyDelete
  22. At least Josh would sound a little more awake and original then the old Flintstone Yuk Yuk lines they use every morning. I stopped listening because they dumb down everything like were all drop outs.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Josh may be a little more exciting than the YUK YUK what's going on in Flintstone two that are doing it now. They have such a dumb down approach that makes you feel like an idiot. I stppoed listening awhile back and want go back!

  24. Mush mouth Josh? Nice to hear a lispy traffic report on my way to work.

    ReplyDelete
  25. who the heck is josh?

    ReplyDelete
  26. You know that Josh guy who says the same traffic report every break...traffic used to suck in Chattanooga till Josh came along, now there are "no accidents or delays to slow you down"!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Josh and BIG DADDY KYLE are both in need of a solid mentor. God Bless em' they just haven't had the leadership young newcomers need. Oh wait they had Jay. See what I mean!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I've been in radio and the way you get your news is by looking at the TV in the control room!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree, Josh and Kyle could be a great asset to CC Chattanooga. They just need to be molded into great broadcasters with the right management behind them.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Why are you talking about yourselves to each other? You couldn't have these conversations in the hall?

    ReplyDelete
  31. With all due respect guys you are not and will never bbe GREAT broadcasters working for CC. Maybe if you had started with a small mom and pop and learned what real hard working radio is.

  32. New comers...Kyle and Josh. To hear them tell it they are the best in town. They don't understand why they can't get a regular full time air position, why they only get called to be on the air as a last resort, or why they've always been so mistreated no matter who the PD or GM is. Here's what no one will say; you have no real talent. What you do have are cocky attitudes based on where you work, but don't have the pipes or talent to back it up. What you are to them is minumium wage cheap labor, nothing more. Enjoy this ride, I'll bet it's your last one.

  33. Could not have said it better myself! Karma will always come around! From what I hear Jay was VERY good to them and they stabbed him in the back.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Jay Cruze and Mark Bass can tell you first hand about Karma and how it comes around to bite you in the ass. Guess you boys met your match in Chattanooga. You've both left a trail of discontent with other CC properties before coming here. Those other markets couldn’t defeat you - but Chattanooga did. You both waltzed in and thought you were in charge of this town with your attitudes. You see, just like Kyle and Josh you came in with cocky attitudes based on where you work; you had absolutely nothing to do with any of the success inside CC Chattanooga. But you sure hung you hat on it like you did, especially in the way you treated your staff, the advertisers, your competition, and the public in general. And just like Kyle and Josh, you just don’t have what it takes to really be successful.
What you are to us (Chattanooga Radio Professionals) now, is great conversation over a drink or 2 on how 2 idiots single handedly wrote the book on how to dismantle and destroy a solid cluster of radio stations. But the rest of us thank you for changing up the market again.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yes, but unlike Kyle & Josh Mr Bass has landed a mangement gig in FL and from what I hear through the grapevine Jay is going to a Citadel market and will be running WOGT from that location. Josh & Kyle are VERY lucky to even have a job in this business.

    ReplyDelete
  36. BAHHHAAAAHHHAA Jay running WOGT is the funniest thing I have ever heard. I got news for the whole world Jay Cruz will NEVER work for Citadel they know all about his shananigans here in Chattanooga and are way above hiring that clown! And further more Duane is doing just fine without that guys help!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sounds like Jay needs to find a job with some small market Maw and Paw station and try and start over like Kris Van Dyke did by going to Dothan. Oh wait that lasted about as long as his stint in Chattanooga. It seems like Van Dyke and Cruze have one thing in common - they can't keep a job long because they make enemies or just suck at radio! Or are to busy posting on here spreading RUMORS!

  38. More Cuts Coming To Clear Channel - 5/26 - A source tells DCRTV that round two of pay cuts at Clear Channel is coming. The radio giant, which owns a dozen radio stations in the immediate DC-Baltimore area, will be renegotiating employment contracts and cutting sales commissions this fall in all major markets. Managers who are currently under employment contracts will be given two options - accept a pay cut or receive a severance package. San Antonio-based Clear Channel, currently in default on a batch of loans, is taking desperate measures to bolster the bottom line. The firm has made many attempts to renegotiate their debt but lenders refuse to cooperate. Pay cuts could be as high as up to 40% depending on current compensation, we're told.....

  39. You got to wonder why doesn't Clear Channel sell off a few big stations to raise some quick cash. They keep cutting talent and it shows. I got laid off along with others and they keep cutting people and salaries. Sell a few properties and keep what makes them money. Good Product and Good Talent!
