1. The Pulse is showing absolutely no, uh...pulse.
ReplyDelete2. WLND goes from a 7.1 to a 1.4? More Clear Channel genius.
3. Enjoy that 5.1, Talk Monster. It'll drop fast now.
Perhaps this data will prompt intelligent discussion, thank you for putting it together. There were only 2 Counry stations for the first phase of the Arbitron, WUUQ changed on 1/27/10, thus the "pop" for all of the Country stations. WUUQ moved up in rank and is now ahead of WGOW AM, WKXJ, WLND and WOGT.
ReplyDeleteJ103?
ReplyDeleteCC should have kept Classic Country
ReplyDeletePulse News people will have to work hard to dance around their extremely poor numbers and try to discredit the 12+ audience ratings. Or maybe yet, they should consider changing formats to classic polka or 24 hours of "dead-air." It might even jump them up a notch or two. They sure don't have anybody listening to their station now.
ReplyDeleteFormat change for Rock 105 is coming soon.
ReplyDeleteAfter posting a nice gain, Rock 105 will change format next week.
ReplyDeleteWord is CC is changing formats on Rock 105 soon. All formats with the exception of USY have formats less than a year old.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great group to never work for.
WPLZ should change to Motown Oldies.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean ROCK 105 has been around for at least 10 years.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone imagine Louis Lee doing MoTown Oldies?
ReplyDeleteInteresting you say that WUSY is still a strong #1 when 3-5 years ago the gap between 1 and 2 was like 10-15 share points. They are a dying station. Not to mention these are 12+ ratings which noone cares about anymore. If you look 25-54 everything is a lot closer. Not to mention the Duke took huge jumps in a lot of places. Sunny and KZ remain strong as does the mtn. and power 94. If CC was smart they would do something to go after Sunny who is the closest to getting to WUSY. If the Duke and WUUQ keep it up and keep pulling the wusy audience from either end it might be gone in 2 more years. Never seen this much volatility in radio.
ReplyDeleteboy i thought i heard a thudd when they flipped WLND lol
ReplyDeleteYou know why you've never seen this much volatility in radio?
ReplyDeleteb/c radio has never been any less significant than it is now. And it just keep getting worse.
really less significant hey. That is why people meter markets are seeing that Radio has way more listeners and the listeners are listening longer than any arbitron data has ever shown. Radio has more listeners now that it has ever had.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that a radio is on doesn't mean I'm listening to it! When I fill out a diary, I don't count the radio at work because I did not intentionally choose the station, nor am I actually listening. It is just on in the background. As a matter of fact, there are often 3 of us in the room with the radio, and none of us are consciously aware of it for more that brief periods of time.
ReplyDeleteI do count the car radio on the way to and from work. That could be 0, 1, 2 or 3 different stations during my 45 minute drive. A diary is a somewhat difficult item to properly complete, and I would bet many of them are botched or unusable in one way or another, either intentionally or accidentally.
Why does Chattanooga radio SUCK SO BAD?
